Air Force veteran MJ Hegar is outraising the rest of the dozen Democrats running to replace Texas GOP Senator John Cornyn this fall. Campaign finance filings on Friday reveal Hegar raised just over a million-dollars in the final three months of 2019. She also has more than a million on hand. Three other candidates, including former Houston City Council member Amanda Edwards, are each in good enough shape for the March 3rd primary to possibly be the one to face Hegar in a May 26th runoff. The winner will face Cornyn in the fall election.
