Whataburger Sued Following Worker's Death

American justice symbol in court

Whataburger is being sued over the 2018 death of a San Antonio worker. Glen Shorey's widow tells the San Antonio Express-News her husband was told to sit down in the lobby after he complained of chest pains. She also accused co-workers of not checking on him for hours before discovering the 38-year-old without a pulse. He died in the hospital days later. Her attorney believes Shorey would have survived if they had called paramedics sooner. The family is asking for over a million dollars in damages in the wrongful death suit. San Antonio-based Whataburger says they are reviewing the complaint.
