Two sisters from San Antonio are going to federal prison for 24 years for trying to smuggle meth from Mexico into the U.S. The Justice Department says 24-year-old Melissa Janet Lara and 21-year-old Mary Ann Lara were both convicted last summer for importing meth, conspiracy to possess and distribute, and possession with intent to distribute. The younger sister was also convicted of conspiracy to import. The two were caught with 39 kilos of meth at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry in 2018.
