USDA Approves State Hemp Production Plan

State Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is reporting the federal Department of Agriculture's approval of hemp regulatory plans in Texas. Miller made the announcement on Monday, calling it a win for Texas farmers. He pointed out it's still not yet legal to grow hemp in Texas, because the licensing program and other rules need to be approved. Last June, Governor Greg Abbott signed a law that authorizes the production of hemp crops, and the manufacture and sale of hemp products in Texas. The law includes products containing CBD and other edible parts of the hemp plant.
