At least two people are dead following an explosion at a Houston business. According to Houston Police Chief Hubert Acevedo, a criminal investigation is open and he stressed there has been no evidence that this was a terrorist attack or a deliberate act. The blast could be felt miles away and did damage to nearly all of the buildings in the immediate area, shattering glass, breaking garage doors and causing some ceilings to collapse. Police ask residents to look around their homes for possible evidence.
People across Houston were awoken by a huge blast this morning. The explosion just before 4:30 rocked an industrial area in northwest Houston, and shook part of the city. The blast was at a machining company called Watson Grinding and Manufacturing in Spring Branch. Entire structures were destroyed in the blast, and a video shared on Twitter showed a fireball from the explosion. Cy-Fair ISD closed two schools because of the explosion.
