Protesters Of Trump Admin Asylum Policy Gather In Brownsville

Border Partol at the US Mexico border in San Diego

Immigration activists are gathering in Brownsville to protest the Trump Administration's asylum policy. Hundreds of people from around the country began arriving yesterday to stage a long-term protest at the tent site near the Mexican border where immigration judges conduct asylum hearings. The activists reject the Migrant Protection Protocols or MPP which is also known as the Remain In Mexico program requiring asylum seekers to stay in a third party country to await a hearing.
