Astros Fire GM, Manager Over Sign Stealing

Divisional Series - Tampa Bay Rays v Houston Astros - Game Two

The Houston Astros have fired team manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow following a major league baseball investigation into sign stealing. Earlier in the day, Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred announced the pair had been suspended for the entire 2020 season over a sign stealing during the 2017 season. The two would not have been allowed to be involved in any decision involving the Astros with Manfred saying they would be permanently suspended if they do. No players were suspended. The team has also been ordered to forfeit their first round draft picks in 2020 and 2021. A short time after the suspensions were announced, Astros owner Jim Crane announced he was firing Hinch and Luhnow.
