Governor Greg Abbott is going to be honoring the North Texas church security guard who shot a gunman to death. The Governor's Office said yesterday Jack Wilson will get the Governor's Medal of Courage on Monday. In a tweet, the governor called Wilson a "good guy with a gun who stopped a bad guy with a gun." The medal is the highest award given to civilians by the Governor. Wilson leads the volunteer security at West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement. He shot the gunman late last month after the gunman opened fire on the congregation. Wilson told Fox Four he relied on his experience as a former Army National Guardsman and former Hood County reserve deputy to end the gunman's rampage.
