The new year is bringing higher water bills to residential customers of San Antonio Water System. City Council approved the nearly ten-percent rate hike in December 2017, along with lesser increases in 2018 and 2019. The rate increase took effect on January 1st, and will mean the average water bill will go up about six-55 a month. The rate increases are to help pay for infrastructure improvements, as well as for the Vista Ridge Pipeline, a 142-mile pipeline from Burleson County to San Antonio.
