Flu season is in full swing. Federal health officials say the virus is now widespread and reported in 45 states and Puerto Rico. According to the CDC, there are nearly six-and-a-half-million reported flu cases across the country.
Recent deaths in Texas included a 10-year-old Coppell boy and a Kerr County corrections officer.
More than 50-thousand of those required hospitalization and nearly three-thousand people have died. As always, healthcare professionals say getting a vaccination is the best way to protect yourself from the flu.
