Fireworks Start Blaze That Heavily Damages House

Orange Dancing Flame

Arson investigators are reporting that a fire that heavily damaged a home on the East Side on New Year's Eve was caused by fireworks. The blaze broke out around 10 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Larry near North Walters. A police officer at the scene says the fire destroyed the back half of the house, but the structure will probably be declared a total loss. The resident of the house, a man in his 60s, says he will stay at his sister's place for the time being.
