An audit of all Bexar County employees will be carried out to make sure their background checks are accurate. Sheriff Javier Salazar ordered the audit after a civilian county employee was arrested for shooting a relative on Saturday outside a North Side laundromat. The suspect, 24-year-old Andrew Ramos, was hired by a previous county administration in 2016 despite having been arrested for robbery. Salazar says Ramos would never have been hired under the county's current stricter hiring standards.
