SE Texas Voluntary Evacuation Near Plant Site Ends

A voluntary evacuation near the scene of a Southeast Texas chemical plant fire is over. Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick says an issue with a pressure release valve is to blame for Wednesday's evacuation in Port Neches. The valve at the TPC Group facility has been replaced, and Branick says the air is safe. The plan is to remove all the butadiene from the plant as soon as possible. The cause of last week's explosion is still under investigation.
