McAllen Doctor Sentenced For Healthcare Fraud

Legal office of lawyers, justice and law concept : Wooden judge gavel or a wood hammer and a soundboard used by a judge person on a desk in a courtroom with a blurred brass scale of justice behind.

A doctor who pled guilty to healthcare fraud four years ago is finally being sentenced to prison. Dr. Eduardo Carillo will serve two years and pay 30-thousand-dollars in restitution for his role in a scheme that billed Medicare for seeing patients that were actually already dead. He and his assistant also received kickbacks for referring patients to certain home healthcare agencies. He pled guilty to the charges in November of 2015 but wasn't sentenced until yesterday.
