Senate Majority Leader Reacts To House Impeachment Efforts

Amb. William Taylor And Deputy Assistant Secretary Of State George Kent Testify At Impeachment Hearing

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says House Democrats are not doing the basic work of government because of the impeachment inquiry. Speaking on Capitol Hill, the Kentucky Republican said he has not been watching the first public hearing in the impeachment inquiry today. McConnell said the rules of impeachment are very clear that the Senate would have to have a trial. On how long a potential trial would last, McConnell said it is impossible to predict. McConnell said he is more concerned with passing the US-Canada-Mexico Trade Agreement and appropriations to fund the government.
