Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall will meet with City Council members today to discuss rising crime rates and some crime-fighting strategies. The latest figures show crime in the city is still on the rise. As of the end of September, the overall increase in crime is just over four-percent from the same period last year. Violent crime is up more than six-percent, with homicide up nearly 22-percent over the same period in 2018. Today's meeting will be the first for the Dallas City Council Public Safety Committee since June.
