Boaters Rescued From Jetty Off Galveston

Police Lights and Sirens Law Enforcements

Four boaters are back on dry land after being stranded Monday evening on a rocky jetty off Galveston Island. Galveston officials say the four people were on a boat that crashed into the jetty a mile or two offshore at about 6 p.m. The boat sank, but the passengers climbed onto the jetty. Rescuers using a jet ski had shuttled all four to safety by 9:30 p.m. The operation was carried out by Galveston Marine Rescue, which includes the Galveston police, fire and beach patrols, along with the Galveston County EMS.
