Supporters of Rodney Reed gathered at the governor's mansion Friday to continue protests against Reed's planned execution. The rallygoers join Texas lawmakers on both sides of the aisle and celebrities such as Beyonce in voicing their opposition to the scheduled November 20th execution. Supporters of Reed say new evidence casts reasonable doubt on his 1998 conviction for the rape and murder of Stacey Stites. Texas senator Ted Cruz said in a tweet Friday that the new evidence in the case should be "weighed carefully."
