AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch says the statewide average gas price in Texas is $2.28 a gallon of regular unleaded. That's up three-cents from a week ago, and 17-cents less than last year at this time. The national average price is $2.63 which is two-cents more than last week, and ten-cents less than a year ago. In Houston, the average price is $2.23. In DFW, the average price is $2.34. In San Antonio, the average price is $2.21. In Beaumont it was $2.23, Waco it was $2.23, Brownsville-Harlingen $2.25 and it was $2.24 in McAllen.
