Southwest, American May Lose $1B Because Of 737 Max Grounding

US-AVIATION-BOEING

Southwest and American Airlines stand to lose at least a billion-dollars between them as a result of the grounding of the Boeing 737 Max. Dallas-based Southwest has 31 of the jets, more than any other carrier, and Fort Worth-based American has 24. The jets were grounded in March after two crashes killed nearly 350 people. The airlines have had to cancel thousands of flights as a result. Southwest flies only Boeing jets, but is now reconsidering that policy. Boeing has set aside five-billion-dollars to compensate its inconvenienced airline customers.
