The Astros and Nationals will open the World Series tonight at Minute Maid Park. Interestingly, the two share a West Palm Beach, Florida spring training site and faced other six times in exhibition games, but did not meet during the regular season. The Astros will start Gerrit Cole for Game One, while the Nationals will counter with Max Scherzer. Justin Verlander and Stephen Strasburg are the Game Two probables tomorrow night.
Astros reliever Ryan Pressly is nursing a sore right knee, which he injured fielding a bunt Saturday. He had the knee scoped in August and missed a month. Manager A.J. Hinch said they would continue to monitor Pressly's health before putting him on the World Series roster. Right-hander Chris Devenski would likely be added if Pressly is a no-go. Hinch said Zack Greinke would start Game Three on Friday in Washington DC.
