McAllen Woman Charged With Taking Bribes, Kickbacks

Law and Justice concept. Mallet of the judge, books, scales of justice. Courtroom theme.

A McAllen woman is being accused of taking part in a bribery scheme to gain referrals from physicians. Claudia Haro appeared in federal court yesterday to face charges of conspiracy and lying to a federal agent. Haro allegedly delivered cash payments to physicians and other individuals between 2011 and 2016, in exchange for referrals to medical supply and equipment companies she was associated with. The services and supplies purchased through the scheme were billed to Medicaid and Medicare.
