Hurricane Jerry is approaching the Northern Leeward Islands as a Category 1 storm. The maximum sustained winds have slowed to 80 miles per hour. It expected to pass well north of Puerto Rico tomorrow and will also miss the Bahamas. It is expected to turn northward on Monday and will not come near the U.S. coastline. There are tropical storm watches in effect for many of the cities in the Leeward Islands, including St. Martin. Up to six inches of rain is possible.
