The Texas House is holding its first meeting of the select Committee on Mass Violence Prevention and Community Safety. Legislators are discussing ways to keep weapons out of the hands of felons and how report criminal history information to state and federal databases. House Speaker Dennis Bonnen says the committee needs to come up with solutions to defeat violence. The committee was formed after attacks in El Paso, Midland, and Odessa.
