Gerrit Cole struck out 15 over eight innings and Yordan Alvarez drove in six runs as the Astros demolished the Mariners 21-1 in Houston. Cole gave up just one hit as he picked up his 16th win on his 28th birthday. George Springer hit a three-run homer in Houston's nine-run third inning. Kyle Tucker had a pair of doubles and three RBI. Myles Straw went 3-for-3 with an RBI and Alvarez finished 4-for-6 with three doubles. The Astros are 16-and-1 against Seattle this season. Shed Long had the M's only hit, a solo homer in the fourth. Felix Hernandez gave up 11 runs in two-plus innings to take the loss.
