Texas Governor Abbott Discusses Mass Shooting

At Least 7 Dead And 21 Injured In Mass Shooting In Odessa And Midland, Texas

Governor Greg Abbott says Texas is healing after the latest mass shooting in West Texas. A lone gunman opened fire in Midland and Odessa Saturday killing seven and injuring 21. Among the victims is a 17-month-old girl who was shot in the face. Abbott said the mother of the toddler injured reached out to him. She told him the shooting is "all of our worst nightmare but thank God she's alive and relatively well." Abbott said according to the girl's parents, the child's mouth is pretty badly injured but will heal. It appears her jaw was not hit, just her lips, teeth and tongue. She's expected to undergo surgery tomorrow.  The parents tell Abbott that they appreciate continued prayers. The governor thanked all first responders who rushed to the shooting scenes to help the victims.
