As of this coming Sunday, the legal age to buy tobacco products in Texas goes from 18 to 21. Governor Greg Abbott signed the "Tobacco 21" bill into law back in June. The Texas Senate and the Texas House both passed the legislation by large margins. The bill also includes vapes, but an amendment provides an exemption for those under 21 in active military service. The law takes effect on September 1st, along with a number of other new state laws.
