The Texas Longhorns are preparing to host Louisiana Tech in the season-opener this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
During his news conference, head coach Tom Herman took time to honor Cedric Benson, who died in a motorcycle wreck earlier this month. Herman said, "when you lose someone to an accident that young, there's no other word than tragic that comes to mind." The Longhorns are honoring Benson with a #32 decal on the back of their football helmets.
Herman said he's looking forward to seeing Sam Ehlinger's performance and leadership this season. Herman said, "we're never going to get complacent, but I think comfort is the right word, and confident in what he can do."
