Texans' running back Lamar Miller is out for the season with a torn ACL. Miller suffered the season-ending injury in Saturday's 34-0 preseason loss to the Cowboys.
"That was hard," Bill O'Brien said. "He’s just an awesome guy. He’s meant a lot to me personally and it’s just a tough thing to see."
"Anybody gets hurt, it’s tough," quarterback Deshaun Watson said. "But he’s one of the guys that bring a lot of energy and a lot of power to this team. It’s tough to see him go off on the cart. I prayed for him. We’ll be there for him every step of the way.”
Miller ran for 973 yards in 2018, the third straight season he led Houston in rushing. The Texans recently acquired running back Duke Johnson will receive the bulk of the carries with Miller out. The Texans will conclude preseason play on Thursday against the LA Rams at NRG Stadium.
