We continue to see good news at the gas pump, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
AAA Texas reports the price of gas in San Antonio is down to an average of $2.34, down four cents from last week, and 17 cents less han we were paying on August 15th of 2018.
AAA analysts say several factors are responsible for the falling gas price. They include the fact that the summer travel season is winding down as school has begun to resume.
It says economic weakness in many countries, including China, has led to an increase in gasoline stocks, and a larger supply means lower prices.
The average price across the state today is $2.37, with drivers in McAllen paying the least, and motorists in Midland paying the most to gas up.
Analysts expect prices to continue to slowly fall through the rest of the autumn. In fact, some analysts say we could see prices under $2.00 a gallon by Christmas, if current strong production from Texas continues to be coupled with weakening demand in Asia.
