Labor Organizer Announces Run Against John Cornyn

Election Day: Polling place

Another Democrat is getting into the race to challenge Republican U.S. Senator John Cornyn next year. Cristina Tzintzun Ramirez announced her run today saying she wants a government which serves the people. She wants the government to tackle climate change, immigration, and healthcare. Tzintzun Ramirez co-founded the labor organization Workers Defense Project and created Jolt which looks to get more Latinos involved in politics. Dallas Senator Royce West, Houston City Councilwoman Amanda Edwards, ex-Congressman Chris Bell, and MJ Hegar are also running for the Democratic nomination.
