Annual Tax-Free Weekend Underway

Texas' annual tax-free weekend is in full swing. Through Sunday, shoppers in Texas will not pay state or local tax on certain items. This event takes place at the beginning of each school year and takes the tax off of common school items such as clothing, school supplies, and backpacks. Goods over one-hundred dollars are not included in this deal. Shoppers save a little more than eight-dollars on every 100-dollars they spend. The sales tax holiday weekend has been a back-to-school event every year since 1999.
