Before the El Paso mass shooting, the suspect's mom told police she was worried because her son just purchased an assault weapon. Yesterday, attorneys Chris Ayers and R. Jack Ayres, who represent the Crusius family, told CNN that Patrick Crusius's mother had concerns about him owning the gun considering his age, maturity level and lack of gun-handling experience. The lawyers said an Allen public safety officer reportedly told her that because her son was 21-years-old, he was legally allowed to own the weapon.
