As a result of new legislation, the state of Texas is offering to fund full-day Pre-K at all public schools starting this fall. The program is part of a multi-billion-dollar overhaul of the state's school finance system. To be able to enroll for free, kids must be unable to speak English, homeless, in custody of Child Protective Services, or eligible for the free lunch program. Children of active duty service members, or of a first responder or member of the Armed forces who was killed or wounded, are also eligible.
