Border Patrol Rescues Father and Child from the Rio Grande

Border Patrol agents rescued two people trying to cross into the country through the dangerous waters of the Rio Grande.

It happened after Brownsville Border Patrol agents and Customs and Border Protection officers had responded to a report of approximately 40 illegal aliens who crossed the Rio Grande underneath the Brownsville Gateway International Bridge. Upon arrival, agents and officers took several illegal aliens into custody and observed aliens pinned in the middle of the river due to the strong currents. Agents requested the assistance from nearby Border Patrol units who responded to the area and rescued a man traveling with his child. They were provided medical attention and had the entire group transported to the Brownsville Border Patrol Station to be processed.
