Bungled Dope Deal Leads to Downtown Stabbing

Police say a bungled dope deal led to a stabbing overnight in Milam Park on the west edge of downtown, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say two men met in the park to do a drug transaction, and the buyer started complaining that he was being short changed.

The 30 year old man then produced a knife and stabbed the other man.

The suspect then took off with the drugs and ran into the downtown area. He remains at large.

Police say the victim is in the hospital in stable condition.
