Gerrit Cole was lights out as the Astros hammered the Angels 11-2 in Anaheim. Cole struck out 11 over seven innings of one-run ball for his 10th win of the season. Michael Brantley hit a two-run homer and George Springer tacked on a three-run shot as Houston ended a two-game slide. Dustin Garneau hit a solo homer and an RBI double to provide the LA offense. Felix Pena allowed eight runs in less than five frames to take the loss. It snapped the Halos' five-game winning streak. Manager Brad Ausmus was not part of the game as he served a one-game suspension handed down by MLB.
