New Braunfels police standoff ends with suspect being shot

A New Braunfels police standoff ends with the man who had been holding police at bay being shot by officers. The standoff began about 11 a.m. today when police were called to the 200 block of Clemens Avenue on reports of a man with a gun. He refused to come out and a couple of hours into the standoff, negotiations broke down and officers smelled smoke coming from the apartment. Officers went into the apartment and say that's when the man exited a room and pointed a gun at them. When he did, officers shot him. He's said to be in serious, but stable condition. None of the officers were injured.
