Justin Verlander picked up his 10th win and struck out nine over seven innings as the Astros beat the Yankees 9-4 in New York. Tyler White blasted a grand slam for Houston. Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez also homered for the Astros, who snapped a season-worst seven-game losing streak. DJ LeMahieu hit a three-run shot for the Yankees, who set a franchise record with a home run in 26 consecutive games. J.A. Happ took the loss, allowing eight runs in four innings. New York had its eight-game winning streak halted.
