Astros Outlast Mariners In 14 Innings

Myles Straw tripled to lead off the 14th and scored the decisive run on Yuli Gurriel's sacrifice fly as the Astros beat the Mariners 8-7 in Seattle. Robinson Chirinos, Alex Bregman and Jack Mayfield homered in the win. Justin Verlander left in the seventh, allowing three runs on five hits. Chris Devenski worked out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 14th to pick up the win as Houston concluded a 6-and-1 trip. Edwin Encarnacion delivered a run-producing single in the ninth for Seattle to send it into extra innings. Omar Narvaez homered in the tenth to prolong the game. Matt Festa, the eighth Seattle pitcher used, took the loss. The Mariners are 2-and-8 in their last ten.
