The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners will stay in existence. Governor Greg Abbott tweeted today he had tools to extend the board for two years without needing to call a Special Session. There were worries the board would shut down because the Legislature did not pass a bill keeping the agency alive. A group called United To Save The Plumbing License was planning a rally at the state Capitol next week in hopes of getting Abbott to call a special session. Currently licensed plumbers were concerned the board's closure meant anyone could call themselves a plumber without having a license.
