Woman Tries to Outrun Deputies in Wild Chase

Another case of a routine traffic stop turning into an unnecessarily dangerous high speed chase through neighborhoods early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Deputies tried to pull over a car that was driving erratically on Somerset Rd. on the south side early today.

But rather than pull over, the driver decided that everything would be okay if she would just floor it and try to outrun the law.

The law matched her mile for mile, at speeds reaching 100 miles an hour, the chase wound through the south and west sides before ending up in the parking lot of a hotel on Cesar Chavez Blvd. downtown.

Deputies say somebody in the car started throwing items out of the window, then five women jumped and and tried to run, but all were captured.

Officials are trying to determine what charges each of them will face. No word on what was in the bags that were thrown out of the car.
