The Royals led by nine runs after two innings en route to an 11-5 win over the Rangers in Kansas City. Hunter Dozier drove in three runs, and Whit Merrifield had three hits and scored three times. Jorge Soler contributed three hits and drove in two for Kansas City, which had lost its last two. Danny Duffy went five for the win. Shelby Miller took the loss, retiring only five of the 14 batters he faced with eight crossing the plate. Logan Forsythe and Joey Gallo combined to go 5-for-8 with four RBI for Texas, which lost its fifth in-a-row.
