Rain Causes Flash Flooding In Houston Area

Flooding Road Sign

More than 7 inches of rain fell this afternoon in parts of the Houston-metro area causing flash flooding.  In Sugar Land, city officials reported all major roadways were impassable as rain continued to fall. The fire department has been called to help rescue a number of people stranded in their cars because of the high water. The storm has also knocked out power to thousands of customers in the Kingwood and Copperfield areas. There is more rain in the forecast in the coming days.
