Chemical Company Charged Over Fire

A chemical company is being charged in connection to a huge chemical plant fire near Houston last month. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg filed five environmental criminal charges against Intercontinental Terminals Company. She says after the fire, the company's makeshift dike broke, sending a large amount of highly toxic chemicals into a bayou that flows directly in Galveston Bay. Ogg's office claims pollution levels were at criminal levels because of the fire. ITC could face fines of up to 100-thousand-dollars for each of the charges.
