Justin Verlander tossed eight sharp innings as the Astros doubled up the Twins 7-1 in Houston. Verlander struck out eight while allowing just four hits and one run to improve to 4-and-0. Carlos Correa, Michael Brantley and Josh Reddick each homered for Houston, which improved to 8-and-1 at Minute Maid Park. Jorge Polanco launched a solo shot in the fourth to provide the Minnesota offense. Kohl Stewart gave up five runs over six innings to take the loss. The Twins lost their second straight on the heels of a four-game winning streak.
