Jose Altuve walked on four pitches with the bases loaded and two out in the ninth as the Astros walked off the Athletics 9-8 in Houston. Aledmys Díaz homered and drove in four Houston runs. Tony Kemp also homered, while Alex Bregman and Altuve each had three hits and a RBI. Blake Treinen took the loss, allowing two runs on four walks and two hits while retiring only four. A's starter Mike Fiers did not make it through two innings, giving up six runs. Robbie Grossman, Chad Pinder and Josh Phegley homered and combined to drive in all the Oakland runs.
