Rangers Shut Down Astros

Houston Astros v Texas Rangers

Mike Minor allowed five hits and struck out seven over seven innings as the Rangers shut out the Astros 4-0 in Arlington. Nomar Mazara homered and drove in two runs. Hunter Pence and Ronald Guzman also plated runs for Texas. The Rangers are 4-and-2 to start the season. Gerrit Cole struck out nine, but allowed three runs in six innings to take the loss. Astros manager A.J. Hinch and hitting coach Alex Cintron were ejected in the second inning for arguing balls and strikes. The Astros finished 2-and-5 on their season-opening road trip.
