The Houston Astros and starting pitcher Justin Verlander have agreed to a two-year extension worth 66-million-dollars. Verlander was entering the final year of his contract with the Astros. Since arriving to Houston, Verlander has helped lead the Astros to their first World Series in 2017 and went 16-and-9 with a 2.52 ERA in 2018, while leading the American League in strikeouts. The right hander was also named an American League All-Star last season and reached the 200-win mark for his career.
