A two alarm house fire badly damaged a home on the city’s northeast side home this morning, and at one point firefighters were forced to withdraq and ‘go defensive’ to prevent the fire from spreading, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports..
When firefighters arrived at the two story structure in the 12000 block of Thistledown, which is near Bulverde Rd. and Thousand Oaks, they found flames coming out of the garage and from the downstairs part of the home.
A second alarm was quickly sounded and at one point 25 fire trucks had converged on the scene.
Crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes, but they were hampered by several cars and motorcycles in the garage and in the backyard which were on fire, and gasoline explosions were heard.
There are no reports of any injuries. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
